Chögyam Trungpa (1940–1987) is the originator of a radical re-presentation of Tibetan Buddhist teachings and the myth of Shambhala as an enlightened society that was later called Shambhala Buddhism.
Trungpa was a rebel meditation master of the the Kagyu and Nyingma lineages of Tibetan Buddhism. Known for his brand of “crazy wisdom.” As well as being a teacher and artist who founded Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, the first Buddhist-inspired university in North America.
The materials we will be diving into are from the interpretive audio series titled “Shambhala Warrior Training” by Cynthia Kneen. Supplemented by Trungpa’s source material “Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior.”
